A training log should speak the language of the movement it records. Thirty minutes on the treadmill, three sets under a barbell, and a thirty-second hamstring hold are not the same kind of entry. With release 1.0.42.3, the Workout Routine Planner at the web utility hub now classifies every movement as Stretching, Weights, or Cardio.
Training Type Classification
Every exercise added to a log now carries a type. Movements pulled from the 887-entry exercise compendium are classified automatically; manually entered movements take one of the three with a single tap. The classification is not decorative — it changes the log sheet itself.
- Weights — load × reps, with an estimated 1RM computed for each set.
- Cardio — time in minutes and distance in kilometres. The load column simply does not appear.
- Stretching — hold time in seconds, plus repetitions.
Accurate logging begins with the right fields. The long-standing awkwardness of recording a run as sets and reps ends here.
The Calendar Now Counts Volume, Not Sessions
The figure printed in each day of the monthly workout calendar has changed. Instead of a bare session count, every movement logged that day is aggregated by type and shown side by side: weight sets, cardio minutes, and stretching reps. A colour legend sits above the grid, so a month of training reveals its character at a glance.
The same aggregation governs the header of the active log, the weekly plan summary, the monthly statistics cards, and the summary text copied to the clipboard. Whichever screen you read, the numbers mean the same thing.
Search and Routine Editing
Exercise search gains a type filter, so narrowing the compendium to stretching or cardio movements takes one click. In the routine editor each exercise carries its own type, and switching it converts the target field to reps, minutes, or hold seconds while adjusting the default set count and rest interval accordingly.
Existing Logs Are Preserved
Logs and routines saved before this update are migrated automatically when loaded. Nothing is asked of the user and no history is lost. Where the automatic classification disagrees with what was actually performed, the type can be changed directly on the exercise.
