Ever struggled to remember the weight you just lifted, or scrolled through your camera roll to check what you did last week? Workout Log is a free web-based training journal that captures sets, reps, cardio time and distance, and stretching holds in one place — then lets you review it all on a monthly calendar. No app to install, no account to create.
Precise Per-Set Logging, Tailored to Each Category
Not every exercise fits a weight-times-reps grid. Workout Log changes the input fields to match how you actually train.
- Weight training — log load and reps per set, with a live Epley-formula 1RM estimate.
- Cardio — record your duration, then enter either speed or distance and the other is derived automatically. Use speed on a treadmill, distance for outdoor running and cycling.
- Relaxation stretching — recorded as hold time.
- Activation stretching — recorded as repetitions.
Stored in an Industry-Standard Format
Your records follow the FIT profile used by fitness devices such as Garmin and Wahoo — seconds for duration, meters for distance, meters per second for speed, kilograms for weight. Your data is never locked into one service. On screen, everything is shown in the units you are used to (minutes, km, km/h, kg or lbs).
See the Bigger Picture on a Monthly Calendar
Review a full month at a glance. Each day cell shows colour-coded category totals — weight sets, cardio time, stretching — and your training streak is tracked automatically. Only completed sets count toward totals, so your statistics reflect what you actually did. Tap a date to break that day’s session down by category and target area.
Evidence-Based Split Routines
Built on exercise physiology principles from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Workout Log offers six verified split paradigms: Full Body, 2-day (Upper/Lower or Anterior/Posterior), 3-day Push/Pull/Legs, 4-day and 5-day. Set counts and rest intervals adapt to your goal — hypertrophy (8–12 reps), strength (3–6 reps) or muscular endurance (15–20 reps) — and your experience level.
Build and Reuse Your Own Routines
Save the set-ups you train most often as My Routines, then load them in two steps — pick a routine, pick the day — straight into your note. You can also copy a recommended split and adapt it to your own preferences.
One-Click Weight Training Wiki Integration
Every logged exercise links directly to its form guide in the Weight Training Wiki — machine setup, prime mover and synergist anatomy, breathing cues, and corrections for the most common mistakes.
Rest Timer and Data Ownership
- Rest timer — starts automatically when you complete a set, and your chosen interval (30/60/90/120/180 seconds) persists across visits and devices.
- Permanent local storage — all records live in your browser and are never sent to an external server.
- Optional cloud sync — sync two-way with Google Drive only if you choose to, with automatic snapshots taken before any overwrite so you can roll back.
- Export and import — back up and restore your history as a JSON file at any time.
Built for Mobile
Add it to your home screen and it behaves like a native app. A single back gesture closes a dialog and returns you exactly where you were, and narrow screens render the calendar as compact colour dots. Every input is mirrored to the URL in real time, so refreshing or sharing a link restores your exact state.
